PDFTK is a powerful and simple tool that can be used to split and collate PDF files.
How to split a PDF file:
1. Open PDFTK from the Desktop or Start menu shortcut
2. Click the 'Split' tab at the top left
3. Click 'Source PDF File ...' to choose a PDF file to split
4.Navigate to the file you would like to split in Windows Explorer and then click 'Open'
5. Click 'Save' to save the individual pages
*Note, this will save the individual pages to the same folder the original PDF is located in, you may want to place the PDF into it's own folder before splitting if there are many pages
6.When PDFTK is done you will see 'created' in the bottom left corner
7. The individual pages are now available in the same directory as the original PDF file.
How to collate PDF files into a single PDF:
1. Open PDFTK from the Desktop or Start menu shortcut
2. Under 'Collate' click 'Add' to add PDF files to collate
3. Select the files you would like to collate and click 'Open'
*Note, you can select multiple files at once by holding the 'Ctrl' key on your keyboard
4. You can add additional PDF files from other locations by clicking 'Add' again
5. Click 'Save As' to save the collated PDF file
6. Choose the location and name for the new PDF file and click 'Save'
7. When the PDFTK is done you will see 'created' in the bottom left corner.
